Guernsey Festival Chorus - Latest News

Festiva took part in the Church and Community choirs class at the 2017 Eisteddfod on Sunday March 5th. Three different choirs were entered with a variety of musical offerings. In the end Festiva won the Guille-Alles trophy by one point, with the other two choirs coming joint second.

Our concert at The Salvation Army citadel at L'Islet on October 16th 2016 was a joyous and relaxed occasion. As Major Jamie Hill wrote:
"Thank you so much to you and Festiva for coming last evening to lead worship at The Salvation Army. It was a wonderful evening where God was truly glorified. We pray for God's blessing on you all as you continue to seek to proclaim God's Word in music and song around the Island."

Our concert at the Town Church on September 19th 2016, to celebrate  'World Peace Week' has received some very favourable comments:
"Congratulations on a brilliant concert"
"Just a line to thank you, the Choirs, and everyone who made yesterday's concert a most enjoyable event, and subtly uplifting."

and from the National organiser, Jane Hanson:
What a wonderful success we've had this year with around a million people singing for peace with us this year...so huge thanks for your support and contribution".

'FESTIVA' invites any interested grade 6-8 pianist to share Monday rehearsals at Blanchelande College.
Additionally there will be some concert performances, which if at St James' will include an organist and/or a small orchestra - see 'Diary dates' tab for more details.
